Technician, Avionics Shop

- JOB PURPOSE:

To repair, overhaul, modify and test avionics/ electrical units of different classes of complexity in the automated test equipment, electrical, inertial navigation system, instrument and radio shops from a basic level up to an involved and specialized level dependent upon the level of authorization.

- KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of aircraft electrical components.
• Perform maintenance tasks of aircraft electrical components using hand tools and power tools.
• Survey buildings and repair electrical components to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards.
• Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.).
• Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary.
• Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality.
• Perform manual repairs when necessary.
• Conduct routine and special inspections as required by regulations.
• Maintain, repair, and rebuild aircraft electrical systems.
• Ensures compliance to all relevant safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the department.
• Undertake any other functions are assigned by the immediate supervisor.
